Welcome to the virtual tour of our Chinchilla Building. Our new Chinchilla Building is still in construction, but we have finally been able to move in the chinchillas and can once again have our customers out to buy chinchillas!
This is the front of the building. It is much larger than our last one and offers us plenty of room to grow. We now have a seperate office area and a loft to store extra cages and supplies.
This is the herd room. There will soon be a counter, sink, and dish washer along that back wall at the end of the cages. We are still waiting for the septic tank...
I love having lights on all sides of the cages. Even the bottom cage is well lit which was always a challenge in our other buildings. The walls will be covered in white soon, which will lighten the room a lot!!
The ceilings are 12 feet high.
This is our front office with a large observation window. When we have new babies or new chinchillas in our herd room it can be very stressful for them if we allow visitors into the breeding area. Our new office gives our visitors a way to see our breeding room through the observation window, while still giving our chinchillas the privacy they need.
If you are asked to remain in the office on your visit please don't be offended. We only ask this so that we can provide the best environment for our new mothers and latest additions that are still getting used to us.
